Job Description

Summary 
The Bell Person assists arriving and departing with their luggage. Provide information and services to guests and patrons.

Essential Job Functions
•    Escort arriving guests to their rooms on a rotating basis with other Bell staff, handling their luggage with care and efficiency
•    Give summary of hotel information to guest
•    Ensure guest room is in order and describe location of television remote, air conditioning control, guest services directory, safety procedures, etc. to guests checking in
•    Handle luggage for tour or group check-ins in accordance with established procedures
•    Follow baggage tagging procedures and ski storage procedures 
•    Assist the Concierge on duty as required by answering the phone and taking messages
•    Assist with valet parking, door and driving functions as needed
•    Know about all daily functions, locations, and times for appropriate guest direction
•    Perform tasks as required by the Concierge on duty to provide maximum guest service
•    Describe all hotel services and hours of operation; provide safety information and other information as needed
•    Deliver messages, packages, or other items to guest rooms or other areas of the hotel expeditiously, placing in designated areas
•    Assist departing guest with their luggage from guest rooms and checking it into storage, or bringing it to the entrance and assisting doorperson in loading it into the automobile
•    Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the Lobby and Bell storeroom
•    Polish the brass bell carts daily
•    Report any deficiencies or guest dissatisfaction at once to the Front Desk and Front Office Manager
•    Display a high level of friendly and courteous service at all times, as well as a cooperative attitude with all hotel employees
•    Make manager aware of guest’s comments or complaints
•    Report to work in a neatly groomed and acceptable manner as outlined in the Employee Resource Guide
•    Report to work on time
•    Comply with all policies of Limelight Hotels and Aspen Skiing Company
•    Be familiar with hotel fire and safety procedures 
•    Assist in emergency and security procedures as directed by management
•    Complete tasks and projects delegated by your manager and assist other departments as staff and business levels demand

Qualifications

•    High school diploma or equivalent
•    Previous hotel experience helpful
•    Able to handle a variety of different tasks at the same time 
•    Command of the English language

Additional Information

Supervision Given and Received 
Given: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. 
Received: Works under direct supervision of Front Office Manager. Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available.

Work Environment and Physical Demands 
Ability to be on your feet, kneel and bend for extended periods of time. Regularly work in adverse conditions and requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements as well as an office environment and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces. Must be able to lift, push or pull occasionally up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance.
