Job Description

Summary
The Director of Human Resources drives all HR initiatives such as hiring, benefits, employee relations and training programs, to ensure compliance for hotel team members. You’ll also promote a positive team culture while ensuring colleagues deliver incredible guest experience and brings the brand to life. Serves as a coach to the leadership team on all people-related issues.

Essential Job Functions
•    Implements human resources programs, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, Affirmative Action and Equal Employment opportunity compliance, and labor relations.
•    Implements human resources strategies, policies, and procedures; including coaching, counseling, disciplinary, and communication programs; planning, monitoring, oversees the performance review process, and annual merit review.
•    Directs human resources organizational strategies by contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; establishing human resources objectives in line with organization goals.
•    Directs human resources operational strategies by analyzing trends; preparing critical measurements; implementing production, productivity, quality, customer-service, safety, security, and health strategies; leading system improvements.
•    Directs human resources financial strategies by anticipating requirements, trends, and variances; developing action plans; measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances.
•    Completes human resources special projects by identifying and researching human resources issues and priorities; communicating and coordinating requirements; expediting fulfillment; evaluating milestone accomplishments; evaluating optional courses of action; changing assumptions and direction.
•    Supports management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions; analyzing information and applications.
•    Guides management and employee actions by applying human resources policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values.
•    Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
•    Protects organization value by keeping information confidential; cautioning others regarding potential breaches.
•    Improves human resources management job knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
•    Contributes to human resources and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results.
•    All other duties as assigned

The budgeted salary range for this position is $92,566 to $120,336. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all of our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in a relevant field of study such as Human Resources or Business Management and a minimum of 5 years work experience in a related Human Resources Role PHR/SPHR/SHRM CP Certification preferred
• Strong leadership skills, communication skills, negotiating skills, professional integrity and sound business judgment
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills and the ability to analyze data
• HRIS experience, Timekeeping Software Experience (Kronos preferred), Talent Management Software experience (Smart Recruiters preferred) and Worker’s Compensation Claims Processing Software and RTP experience highly desired
• Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) language skills a plus

Knowledge of:
• Talent Acquisition / Talent Development / Talent Management processes in the following areas:  Recruiting, Leadership Competencies, Talent Assessments, Succession Management, Performance Management, Workforce Analytics, Safety and Risk Management processes and analytics
• Current trends and Human Resources Management practices
• Pertinent federal, state, local laws, codes, and regulations including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, ADEA, EEO

Additional Information

Supervision Given and Received 
Given: Exercises general supervision over Limelight Denver Human Resources Department. Assigns a variety of routine tasks, sets general expectations of results expected within company’s policies and procedures. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Received: Works under general supervision of the Hotel General Manager and Aspen Hospitality Human Resources Department. Receives continuing or individual assignments according to supervisor’s directions and may perform routine tasks. Expectations of the quality, quantity and deadlines are clearly set. Instructions, advice and assistance available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
•    Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements 
•    No adverse or hazardous conditions
•    Not required, but preferred to be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 25 lbs. individually or with assistance
