Job Description

The Lift Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance and inspection of ski lifts and related equipment utilized in on-mountain operations. This is technical position learning all aspects of resort and mountain operations. This position is based at Snowmass Mountian. 

We are currently hiring for a variety of open Lift Mechanic positions. Budgeted pay range $27.00 - $34.00 per hour (actual pay may be adjusted based on experience)

Essential Job Functions
•    Assist in scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of lifts and related equipment
•    Assist in maintaining maintenance records
•    Assist in lift operations including operating ski lifts;
o    Being familiar with location of ski lifts on the mountain
o    Know how to turn on & operate the lift controls
o    Run lift on auxiliary or evacuation diesels
•    Manage maintenance tools and equipment
•    Assist in daily preventative maintenance inspections
•    Communicate effectively with co-workers & supervisors about maintenance issues
•    Update maintenance procedures & maintain records
•    Develop a working knowledge of the Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board (CPTSB) & American National Standards Institute (ANSI) codes pertaining to ski lifts
•    Other duties as assigned
 

Qualifications

•    Must be 18 years of age or older
•    Valid, current and unrestricted driver’s license
•    High school degree or equivalent preferred
•    Ability to understand directions and communicate effectively in English
•    Previous mechanical experience preferred

Additional Information

Supervision given and received 
Supervision given: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. 
Supervision received: Works under direct supervision of the Lift Maintenance Manager. Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available. 

Work environment and physical demands 
Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand or be on your feet, kneel and bend for extended periods of time  
Regularly work in adverse conditions and required to use protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials as well as an office environment and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces 
Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
