Job Description

Summary  
Manage high end luxury Boutique. Foster a “5 Star” environment, attitude, and staff culture.  Be the leading force in achieving profitability and revenue goals. Maintain exceptional store condition and visual merchandising standards. Supervise, oversee and operate every facet of the retail operations within the store.  

The starting salary for this position is $73,000 - $102,015. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.  

Essential Functions of the Job 

  • Train and supervise employees in job duties, department standards, Forbes Standards and store policies and procedures
  • Coach, train, and teach product knowledge, cross selling other Aspen Skiing Company products, and other general information necessary to meet luxury customer service goals
  • Prepare work schedules, assign duties to employees, and complete employee payroll timely and accurately
  • Maintains a retail inventory, guaranteeing that all sizes of product are available
  • Ensure entire Boutique inventory of retail product is at correct par levels to ensure customer needs can be met
  • Keep track of incoming and outgoing merchandise in order to maintain accurate inventory counts and prevent loss
  • Prepares store for end-of-season retail inventories and assists with actual scanning/counting during inventory
  • Assist with department budget creation. Accountable for working within budget numbers and reporting on variances
  • Maintain store displays, signage, lighting, and fixtures
  • Ensure compliance with departmental merchandising and delivery standards
  • Keep meticulous records of buying trends, customer inquiries, and propose innovative product ideas to increase business and remain ahead of retain trends
  • Offer anticipatory service to all customers and maintain customer profiles for rental/retail preferences
  • Manage all customer comments and complaints
  • Set performance goals for staff members, and conduct bi-annual and annual performance appraisals
  • Work a flexible schedule, mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays
  • Promote and ensure a safe work environment
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned 

Qualifications

  • College Degree preferred
  • Customer service and sales experience required 
  • Previous experience managing or supervising employees required 
  • Experience in recreation or winter sports industry required
  • High proficiency with Point of Sale or similar computer software experience required 
  • Excellent guest service skills and ability to work in a team environment required 
  • Knowledge of other languages helpful
  • Knowledge of high-end luxury retail product preferred

Supervision given and received  
Supervision given:  Exercises general supervision over department staff. Assigns a variety of routine tasks, sets general expectations of results expected within company’s policies and procedures. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 
Supervision received: Works under general supervision of Hospitality Retail Manager. Receives continuing or individual assignments according to supervisor’s directions and may perform routine tasks. Expectations of the quality, quantity and deadlines are clearly set. Instructions, advice and assistance available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins. 

Work Environment and physical demands  
•    Ability to stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time. Kneeling and bending may be required 
•    Regularly work indoors with no adverse conditions. Some positions require exposure to outdoor elements or a combination of both indoors and outdoors and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces   
•    Must be able to occasionally lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
