Job Description

Summary  
The Lead Cashier will be the primary trainer for new restaurant cashiers and bussers, and will assist to resolve any discrepancies with cash drawers. The Lead Cashier will perform all duties of the Cashier: accurately charge guests for their Food & Beverage purchases, develop relationships to encourage repeat business, and reconcile cash drawer at the conclusion of the shift.  

Essential Job Functions 
Assist management team with training new employees, assigning opening/closing duties, section assignments and scheduling, monitoring performance and productivity.  
Act as the manager on duty in the absence of a manager 
Rectify guest and employee issues immediately, reporting all incidents to the management team 
Maintain excellent safety practices, acts as the safety representative for the restaurant.  
Assist with inventories as required 
Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

Must be over 18 years of age 
A minimum of one-year prior restaurant experience is required  
Ability to problem solve using Math to balance a cash drawer is required  
High School graduate or equivalent preferred 
Prior supervisory experience is preferred  
Ability to ski or ride at an intermediate level is required for employees of ski in/ski out restaurants in winter

Supervision Given and Received  
Supervision given: Exercises general supervision over frontline bussers and cashiers at their location. Assigns a variety of routine tasks, sets general expectations of results expected within company’s policies and procedures. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. 
Supervision received: Works under general supervision of Restaurant Manager. Receives continuing or individual assignments according to supervisor’s directions and may perform routine tasks. Expectations of the quality, quantity and deadlines are clearly set. Instructions, advice and assistance available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins. 

Work Environment and physical demands  
Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time  
Regularly work in wet, hot and humid conditions for extended periods of time and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces  
Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)
