Job Description

Summary 
The Aspen Mountain Club Ski Valet will store and retrieve guest ski equipment in an efficient and courteous manner. Provide the maximum assistance with respect to all ski-related services.

 Essential Job Functions
•    Store and retrieve ski equipment for guests
•    Follow and complete checklist for morning Ski Concierge
•    Responsible for overseeing guest ski equipment when brought into boot lounge area
•    Assist guests in packing skis, boots, and poles. Deliver packed equipment to Concierge Desk for departure
•    Intimate knowledge of local mountains and daily ski conditions
•    Able to ski to at least level 10
•    Issue lift tickets to hotel guests, and post tickets, lessons, tuning, and sundries’ charges to the guest rooms
•    Keep the Ski Concierge area neat and clean at all times
•    Keep guest refreshment area replenished, clean and restocked for the next day
•    Shovel snow off walkway near ski racks and apply de-ice product
•    Clean Ski Concierge area at the end of each shift following closing procedures
•    Direct guest to specific areas of skiing on Aspen Mountain as well as Buttermilk/Tiehack, Snowmass Mountain and Aspen Highland Mountain
•    Responsible for pick up/return of guest rental skis
•    Responsible for booking lessons, powder tours, First Tracks, and other ski related activities
•    Occasionally skiing with the guests
•    Assist with any problem that arise with ski equipment and maintain a good working relationship with the staff of the Ski Concierge, Concierge, the front door staff, the hotel staff in general, and staff of the Aspen Skiing Company

Additional Job Duties
•    Ski as required with Hotel Guests at all levels
•    Make Manager aware of guest’s comments and complaints
•    Report to work in a neatly groomed and acceptable manner as outlined in the employee handbook
•    Report to shift on time
•    Comply with all policies and procedures for the Rooms Division, The Little Nell, and Aspen Skiing Company
•    Is familiar with hotel fire and safety procedures. Assist in emergency and security procedures as directed by management
•    Complete tasks and projects delegated by your manager and assist other departments as business volumes and staff levels demand
•    Make Manager and Membership Director aware of Member comments and complaints
•    Report to work in a neatly groomed and acceptable manner as outlined in the employee handbook
•    Report to shift on time
•    Comply with all policies and procedures for The Little Nell and Aspen Skiing Company
•    Be familiar with hotel fire and safety procedures, as well as Sundeck fire and safety procedures. Assist in emergency and security procedures as directed by management
•    Complete tasks and projects delegated by Club Manager and assist other Club departments, particularly Sales & Marketing, as business volumes and staff levels demand

Qualifications

•    Good knowledge of skiing, ski equipment and local areas
•    Excellent skiing ability
•    Excellent knowledge of daily ski conditions
•    Excellent knowledge of local retail outlets, products and services
•    Holds current Colorado driver’s license
•    Courteous and helpful manner needed

Additional Information

Supervision Given and Received
Given: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Received: Works under direct supervision of the AMC Manager. Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available.

Work Environment and Physical Demands 
• Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand or be on your feet, kneel and bend for extended periods of time 
• Regularly work in adverse conditions and required to use protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials as well as an office environment and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
• Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
