Job Description

Position Summary
The PR & Marketing Intern position performs a wide range of marketing and PR support functions related to the daily operations of the Sales, Marketing and Public Relations department. This position will assist the marketing & public relations team with various ongoing projects and tasks pertaining to our sales + events departments, on property restaurants and bars, rooms, boutique and Adventure Center. Job requires strong communication and organization skills, as well as the ability to think creatively and multi-task. 

Essential Functions of the Job
Assist with departmental administrative tasks – amenity requests, bios, itineraries, hotel and dining reservations, shipping, etc. 
•    Compile social media reports.
•    Support the PR Director with developing media lists.
•    Support the PR Director in monitoring and gathering press clippings 
•    Format press clipping for email distribution or for the internal PR board.
•    Support the PR Director with pitching journalists and responding to media inquiries.
•    Distribute promotional material around hotel property and throughout Aspen.
•    Support the Senior Marketing Manager with updating automated guest emails and creating e-newsletters – writing, producing, sending, tracking.
•    Update events calendar on The Little Nell’s website and submit events to local sites. 
•    Assist with Image Relay Library organization and collection creation.
•    Update website content using Sitecore CMS tool, including changing menus and updating images.
•    Update content for Online Travel Agent sites, travel agency & tour operator sites, online publications, Forbes, Relais & Châteaux, Google +, etc. 
•    Draft responses to guest reviews on TripAdvisor, Yelp, etc.
•    Assist with SEO audits and updates. 
•    Create nightly turndown cards for The Little Nell and Residences at The Little Nell.
•    Assist Creative Services Manager with designing and printing in-house signage and collateral.
•    Assist with organizing photo and video shoots
•    Work with team members to create PowerPoint presentations as needed
•    Process invoices and update checkbooks for the Sales & Marketing department.
•    Assist with stocking and organizing client gift closet. And shipping gifts as necessary.
•    Assist with special events (registration, check in, raffle tickets, etc.).
•    Assist with annual fundraising community events.
•    Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

•    Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, PR, Journalism or related field.
•    1 – 2 years’ experience in Marketing and/or PR – internship experience will be considered 
•    Hospitality experience a plus.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, PPT, Excel.
•    Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite – InDesign and Photoshop required.
•    Proofing/copywriting experience.
•    Effective organizational and project management skills.
•    Compatible personality to be a contributing team player.
•    Must be fluent in English.

Additional Information

Supervision given and received 
Given: This position has no supervisory responsibilities 
Received: Works under direct supervision of Director of PR. Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available

Work Environment and physical demands 
•    Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements 
•    No adverse or hazardous conditions
•    Not required, but preferred to be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 25 lbs. individually or with assistance
