Job Description

Summary 
The general cashier is responsible to make bank deposits, maintain the hotel safe to supply change to all cashiers and perform relief income audit.  The general cashier will also assist other accounting functions as needs arise.

Essential Job 
•Make daily deposits to bank and maintain house bank to supply change to all cashiers/bartenders.
•Reconcile the deposits to totals from systems reports.
•Prepare all due backs and change orders.
•Prepare daily check log for all incoming checks
•Prepare deposits for miscellaneous cash receipts.
•Month-End and other Financial Reports
•Cash over/short journal
•Cash receipt journal
•Credit card reconciliation
•Deposit refund reconciliation
•F&B Comp Cost Summary
•Audit all house banks each month
•Responsible to account for funds in the bank and for reporting daily receipts overages and shortages.
•Process petty cash check vouchers for payment.
•Assist in taking inventories at month end.
•Assist in processing outgoing mail for postage.
•Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable with various duties.
•Bus Pass Sales
•Complete tasks and projects delegated by your manager and assist other departments as business volumes and staff levels demand.

Additional Job Duties
•Make manger aware of guest’s comments and complaints.
•Report to work in a neatly groomed and acceptable manner, as outlined in the employee handbook.
•Report to shift on time.
•Comply with all policies and procedures for the Accounting Department, The Little Nell, and Aspen Skiing Company.
•Is familiar with hotel fire and safety procedures.  Assist in emergency and security procedures as directed by management.
 

Qualifications

•2 years College Preferred.
•Cash handling experience.
•Computer Skills.
•Spreadsheet experience preferably Excel software.
•10 key calculator.
•Good phone skills.
•Spanish language skills (not required)
 

Additional Information

Supervision given and received 
Given: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. 
Received: Works under direct supervision of Credit Manager. Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available.

Work Environment and physical demands 
•    Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements 
•    No adverse or hazardous conditions
•    Not required, but preferred to be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 25 lbs. individually or with assistance
