Job Description

What you will do:

Join Aspect’s Autism Friendly team and help create meaningful employment opportunities for Autistic people.

In this newly created role, you’ll use your lived experience as an Autistic person, alongside strong communication, writing, and organisational skills, to inform and help develop our new Autism Friendly Employment service.

You’ll work with Autistic and non-Autistic colleagues and clients to co-design practical tools, resources, and training that support organisations to become truly autism-friendly. From developing content to leading client projects and training sessions, you’ll help drive lasting change in how workplaces support Autistic employees and create better experiences for everyone.

This is a unique opportunity to influence inclusive culture change across organisations.

This is a full-time, 12-month maximum term contract. The full-time equivalent salary starts from $97,000 per year (inclusive of superannuation), depending on qualifications and experience. We are open to part-time working arrangements and are happy to discuss these with you.

Qualifications

What you bring:

  • You bring lived experience and a desire to improve work opportunities for Autistic (and neurodivergent) people.
  • You have professional experience in HR, advocacy, or co-design achieved in partnership.
  • You have experience in developing written materials such as guides, tools, and resources that support learning, inclusion, or workplace improvement for diverse audiences.
  • You can speak confidently and comfortably with diverse audiences, and explain your ideas in writing and in person.
  • You manage tasks, timelines, and responsibilities independently, and follow through on your commitments.
  •  You work well with Autistic and non-Autistic colleagues, share feedback constructively and help support shared understanding of different perspectives.
  • You are able to travel independently to attend in-person client meetings.
  • You are able to work from Aspect’s Chatswood office a minimum of one day per week.
  • You are able to work with confidence and persistence in environments that may not yet be fully inclusive of Autistic people.
  • You’re confident using tools like email, Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and online platforms to support your work.
  • Working with Children Check clearance (NSW)
  • National Police Clearance
