Job Description

Ashburn Consulting is seeking a JR Network Engineer to join our team ON-SITE in Arlington, Va. Supporting Arlington County Government. Candidates must be local to the DMV area and be able to commute to the Clarendon neighborhood of Arlington, Va, 5 Days a week.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Assist with the physical deployment of network equipment

• Will be on on-site (after hours support as necessary) to rack and stack network Equipment (Network, Power systems, and any peripheral equipment)

• Will ensure fiber and copper cabling is well organized with adherence to best standards

• Perform Network Room Readiness Assessments to ensure appropriate power, cabling types, lengths, optics, rack layout, room layout, etc.

• Create rack elevation diagrams for physical deployment

• Assist with the commission and decommission of hardware according to County standards (Network, UPS, Server, Firewalls, etc.)

• Deploy baseline hardware to include performing essential code upgrades on hardware, establishing management network connectivity for configuration and logical deployment

• Work closely with Project Managers and Lead Engineers teams to provide successful implementation

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be USA citizen
  • Must be able to work on-site 5 days a week in Arlington, Va.
  • Must have 1-3 year of relevant IT experience in any of the following: (Network Engineering, Network Administration Desktop Support, IT Hardware/ Software troubleshooting).
  • LAN / WAN experience.
  • Familiarity with CISCO Network Routers and Switches.
