Job Description

The Security Consulting Engineer will primarily be focused on developing a more robust patch management strategy for our client and proactively focus on remediating vulnerabilities across the enterprise.  This person will focus on the following:

  • Coordinate maintenance and patch compatibility validation with departmental stakeholders and the platform technologies division
  • Bring all servers and endpoints up to date with Microsoft and third-party patches within the confines of application compatibility 
  • Ensure a basic hardened configuration for all servers and make additional recommendations to enhance the posture to include configuring as many systems as possible for automatic updates according to an approved monthly maintenance schedule
  •  Ensure all servers have appropriate security products enabled to include endpoint protection, Tenable.io, functioning SCCM client, and others that may be necessary
  • Transfer all new recurring patch management responsibilities to platform technologies division upon completion of tasks
  • Document system and application exceptions to patching due to legacy platforms and/or application incompatibility

Qualifications

A minimum of 8+ years of experience in the IT Security Field. 

Expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operation including but not limited to System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM). 

Expert knowledge and use of Tenable

Strong communication skills, and the ability to communicate difficult concepts and the associated security challenges, and provide solutions to mitigate them.

Consulting experience is preferred.  

Must be able to pass a back ground clearance investigation. 

A minimum of a 4 year college degree in a related field, or related experience is required.

Hybrid work schedule (3 days onsite/2 days offsite).
