Job Description

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will prepare and/or review account reconciliations, record journal entries, and will have primary responsibility for recording day to day accounting activity.  The individual will prepare daily reports regarding cash receipts, cash disbursements and certain operational data which will assist the Executive Team in making key operational decisions.  Additionally, the Controller will assist in preparing monthly financial reports.  Data integrity and accuracy will be critical to the success of the role.  This role will have significant interaction with multiple areas of the company. Candidates must be comfortable in a small team environment where they will perform accounting tasks at multiple levels of complexity.

Qualifications

The position requires a minimum of a four-year degree in accounting or finance, with a minimum of five years’ experience in the accounting field.  Experience with QuickBooks preferred. Public accounting experience and CPA designation desired.

 

The work environment is fast-paced and consistent with a rapidly growing, expanding company.  It is one where hard work and honest feedback amongst team members is the norm.  While interaction takes places with co-workers, it is expected that this level of position will direct their own work efforts without the need for significant oversight.  The large majority of the work week will be spent at its location in Bethesda, MD with the ability to work remotely 2-3 days per week after a probationary period.  It is expected that the candidate would work remotely through the end of 2020 due to Covid-19.
