Ensuring that high-quality hospice care is accessible to patients and their loved ones at end-of-life would be your commitment as an Area Director of Business Development at AseraCare Hospice. You would execute this commitment through ongoing leadership of hospice sales professionals who represent AseraCare at the local agency level. This execution will include the successful development and application of data-centric growth strategies; the successful implementation of deliberate and sequential growth tactics; and the crafting of timely and articulate hospice messaging. You would apply this approach within a collaborative and creative leadership environment that includes a variety of interdisciplinary functions. JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in hospice/home health sales leadership; exceptions will be made for those having five (5) years’ demonstrable experience in hospice/home health sales (referral/admission generation)
  • Must be able to travel daily to agencies within assigned territory
  • Knowledge of healthcare delivery system including levels of care, reimbursement models, and alternative payment structures (ACO, CIN, MA) is required
  • Knowledge and experience with Managed Care, Medicare, state specific Medicaid regulations and electronic referral management

  • Ability to lead healthcare sales professionals to maximum performance

  • Ability to perform tasks associated with orientation, ongoing training, mentoring, coaching, direct supervision, and performance management of local sales professionals
  • Ability to manage budgets, growth strategy meetings, performance management software, and other technical components of sales success
  • Excellent communication skills, including public speaking, in the area served
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with changing priorities
  • Ability to travel extensively within assigned territory
 

 

 

 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Clinical, healthcare, or related industry experience
  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to travel daily to agencies within assigned territory
  • Minimum three (3) years multi-site supervisory experience in outside sales, business development or other related experience (preferred)
  • Minimum five (5) years experience in sales/lead generation in healthcare setting (hospice preferred)
  • Knowledge of healthcare delivery system including levels of care and reimbursement models is preferred
  • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance

     

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & BEHAVIORS

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding patient and company proprietary information
  • Must have the ability to relate professionally and positively and work cooperatively with other employees at all levels
  • Must have the ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job
  • Knowledge and experience with Managed Care, Medicare, state specific Medicaid regulations and electronic referral management
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with changing priorities
  • Ability to work without management oversight
  • Experience with Microsoft office and aptitude to learn company specific systems
  • Effective oral communication skills
  • Understanding and working knowledge of services and programs offered to support community needs

     

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS

Mobility, reaching, bending, lifting (minimum of 10 pounds), fine hand coordination, ability to read and write, the ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions and directions, ability to travel, and ability to remain calm under pressure
