Job Description
- Provides professional nursing care to residents through the proper administration of prescribed medications and treatments.
- Assigns duties to nursing assistants based on residents' needs and available staff.
- Observes, records, and reports any change in resident’s condition.
- Notifies residents' physicians as necessary to report a change in condition, medication requests, or changes and to verify physician orders.
- Monitors the medication and treatment cart, nurses' station, and medication room to ensure that expired medications are properly disposed of and narcotics are counted per policy and regulations.
- Transcribes written physician orders accurately to Medication Administration Record.
- Completes laboratory requests as ordered by a physician.
Qualifications
- Current LPN licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- General working knowledge of the aging services industry.
- Proven supervisory and leadership skills.
- Compassion, patience, and genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of seniors.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to changing situations in a dynamic care environment.
