Job Description

The Nectar site at Hindon has as much as 30 vehicles departing from the site every day servicing our customers. This role is crucial in the planning and execution of deliveries to said customers.

The Transport Supervisor is responsible leading, coaching and developing the driver team at Nectar Imports, ensuring exceptional levels of compliance, related to running an own fleet transport operation.

This role will ensure the delivery and fulfilment of relevant team targets and KPI’s and deliver high levels of service to customers in relation to outlet deliveries of Beer, Wine, Spirits and Soft Drinks, whilst closely managing costs and promoting Health and Safety excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Health & Safety

  • Ensure exceptional levels of Health & Safety through correct training via internal and external risk assessments

Operations

  • Deliver KPI targets on performance and efficiency, OTIF, fuel, and staff,
  • Ensure that Drivers and Dray are giving a premium service to all our customers, resolving shortfalls quickly, limiting any negativity or grievances.
  • Collaborating with Fleet Coordinator to ensure we have the capacity to deliver allocated orders on time and in full.
  • Focus on cost to serve, working with the planning team to optimise our daily routes, ensuring that we are not incurring unnecessary costs.

People Management

  • Recruit, train and onboard all new staff members, working closely with Lead Drivers to keep training material up to date and relevant
  • Complete Driver debriefs daily to ensure continuous improvement and register and resolve any health and safety issues and engage with any relevant stakeholders to support delivery.  
  • Develop and manage the capability of the team, ensuring it can meet the future demands of the business and supporting personal development.

Budget

  • Support the Transport and Warehouse Manager to deliver against budget relating to all variable and fixed costs up to and including £2.5million

 

    We would love to hear from you if you have?

  • Strong Experience in Transport Management at site level.
  • Proven track record of delivering operational improvements and efficiencies in the beer or similar FMCG business.
  • Strong and proven Leadership capability plus experience of developing both individual and team capabilities
  • Strong Health and safety experience both in compliance and team engagement
  • Strong communication skills; inspiring teams to embrace challenges & own the performance
  • Track record of delivering and exceeding KPI targets.
  • Transport Managers CPC Qualification or educated to degree level
