Asahi UK brings together the Production, Supply chain and Distribution elements of Asahi’s operations in the UK. These encompass the Griffin Brewery (Fullers Brewery), Meantime Brewing and Retail Companies, Cornish Orchards Ltd, the Fullers Distribution network, including the Horndean distribution depot and the existing Asahi UK Warehousing and Distribution network, including export operations as well as Supply and Demand Planning for the area’s covered by Asahi UK Holdings.

We are looking to recruit a Distribution Manager to take full accountability of the warehouse and distribution function.

Based at the historic Griffin Brewery in Chiswick, this role is responsible for ensuring the successful distribution of Asahi's premium portfolio to a wide range of customers. 

You will play key role in leading both warehouse and transport teams to ensure we deliver a fantastic level of service to customers. This is an exciting challenge as if ever we experience a resurgence of demand back into the pub trade. 

The successful candidate will have experience of managing a warehouse and distribution  sites historically, be able to lead a team to ensure the teams are hitting objectives but also creates a culture that drives safe working practise, collaboration and efficiency.  

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND OUTPUTS: 

General

• To lead and control all distribution operational aspects within the brewery promoting a safe and efficient working environment, liaising with other managers on site to ensure the smooth running of the end to end Production and Distribution operation.
• Work closely with our business partners to ensure we are fully aligned with pending costs and accruals, tracking monthly budgets spend.
• Review the current processes and identify areas to drive improved efficiencies and levels of customer service by implementing Distribution best practice.
• Monitor Health and Safety to ensure that all health and safety procedures are known and followed by all company personnel. Ensure any incidents or accidents are fully investigated, dealt with through company procedure and any effected areas are made safe immediately.

Distribution

• Ensure that Drivers and Dray are giving a premium service to all our customers, resolving shortfalls quickly, limiting any negativity or grievances.
• Working with the Transport Manager ensuring that we are fully compliant in all aspects, projecting replacement vehicles for CAPEX over a 5-year plan

Warehouse

• Support to the two warehouse Team Leaders and identify gaps and drive operational improvements in Warehousing activity.
• Accountability to ensure all Pick and Pack all orders for Same Day, Haulier, and Customer Collections are processed without causing delay.
• Work with the supply chain to ensure that inventory is at the correct level and all vehicle movements occur within the working parameters of the site.

• Strong Experience in Distribution and Warehousing Management at site level.
• Proven track record of delivering operational improvements and efficiencies in the beer or similar FMCG business.
• Strong Leadership and team engagement experience.
• Track record of delivering and exceeding KPI targets.
• Relevant Logistical qualifications 
• Educated to degree level – desirable
