Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Brewery Retail and Tours Supervisor for Retail within Fuller‘s Brewery based at the iconic Griffin Brewery.

We are looking for an experienced Retail Supervisor on a 6 months Fixed Term Contract to help manage and oversee all Retail and Tour activities and support the current management in all operational and administrative areas.

The Retail and Tours Supervisor's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supervising employees, managing day to day operations of tours and Retail operations in the managers absence, opening and closing of Retail Shop and tours route, ordering stock and management duties including line checks, stock counting, compliance with all health & safety requirements, customer service, handling customer complaints, scheduling of both Tour and Retail staff.

Ultimately, you should be able to ensure that daily operations meet and exceed daily performance expectations and to help drive business growth.

You will be physically fit and be able to cope with physically challenging aspects of the role such has some manual handling, long hours of standing and lifting loads up to 23kg.

Key accountabilities

  • Manage retail staff and tour guides on a day-to-day basis.
  • Open and close Retail Shop and Tour route when required.
  • Ensure pricing is correct.
  • Work on store displays.
  • Coach, counsel, recruit, and train employees.
  • Evaluate on-the-job performance.
  • Ensure merchandise is clean and ready to be displayed.
  • Maintain inventory and ensure items are in stock.
  • Keep up with fluctuating supply and demand.
  • Ensure promotions are accurate and merchandised to the company’s standards.
  • Utilize information technology to record sales figures, data analysis and forward planning.
  • Ensure standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met.
  • Maintain store's cleanliness and health and safety measures.
  • Determine staffing levels and assign workload, Organize and distribute staff schedules.
  • Help retail sales staff achieve sales targets.
  • Handle customer questions, complaints, and issues. Interface with customers to answer questions or solve problems.
  • Tracking and coordinating the receipt, storage, and timely delivery of goods and materials.
  • Ordering supplies and maintaining suitable inventory levels.
  • Checking orders, bills, items received, inventory, and deliveries for accuracy.
  • Maintaining records, reporting relevant information, and preparing any necessary documentation.
  • Ensuring basic maintenance standards and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Minimise day to day issues ensuring that they are resolved quickly and to a high standard.
  • Actively promote and engage new ways of working to improve efficiency and standards.
  • Organize and maintain inventory and storage area.
  • Maintain items record, document necessary information and utilize reports to project warehouse status.
  • Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures and practices.
  • Confer and coordinate activities with other departments
  • Manage and meet the expectations of both our customers & internal stakeholders.

Experience required

  • Proven experience as a Retail Supervisor.
  • Highly effective supervisory skills and techniques.
  • Knowledge of warehouse software packages and MS Office proficiency.
  • Ability to input, retrieve and analyse data.
  • Hands-on commitment to getting the job done, proactive with a positive "can do attitude".
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to direct and coordinate operations.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated with a flexible approach to workload.
  • Disciplined approach to work including the ability to work under pressure.
  • Keen eye for Health & Safety, reporting all relevant incidents and potential issues through the ALERT system.
  • Excellent day-to-day time management.
  • Good level of verbal and written English.
  • Physically fit and able to cope with the demands of a physically taxing role such as standing for long periods, lifting and moving products up to 23kg in weight, bending, reaching above the head, kneeling, crouching, stretching, pushing and pulling product up to 23kg.
