Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a part time Brewery Shop Assistant within Fuller‘s Brewery Shop. The Brewery Shop is the customer face of Fuller’s Brewery for both shop and Brewery Tours Visitors

The Brewery Shop Assistant is responsible for serving customers of both the shop and tours on a day to day business. Through excellent customer service, product knowledge and passion for beer serve you will deliver exemplary service to all stakeholders of the Shop and Tours. You will work along side other Brewery Shop Assistant and be under the supervision of the Brewery Shop Manager.

You will be physically fit and be able to cope with physically challenging aspects of the role such has manual labour, long hours of standing and lifting loads up to 23kg.

Key Accountabilities

  • To be the face of the brewery, the Brewery Shop Assistant will pass on their knowledge and experience to our customers.
  • Friendly and courteous and confident in dealing with customers face to face, upselling and promoting the brand wherever   possible
  • Dealing with customer enquiries, complaints and feedback in person, via phone, or e-mail
  • Strong numeracy and comfortable dealing with cash and card purchases and using a till system
  • Booking tours or taking orders via telephone, e-mail and booking and payment systems
  • Assisting with the organisation and hosting of internal and external events
  • Assist with the ordering and counting of stock. Stocktake administration and adjustments.
  • Assist with promotion of the visitor experience including merchandising and advertising of offers in our Brewery Shop
  • Assisting with shop admin not limited to ordering, cleaning & maintenance
  • Provide occasional cover for the Brewery Online Shop
  • Assist with orientation and training of new staff members for the Brewery Shop
  • Uphold Health and Safety standards and report issues
  • Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness in all areas

Experience, competence requirements and personal characteristics:

  • Hands-on and proactive with a positive "can do attitude"
  • Self-motivated with a flexible approach to workload
  • Disciplined approach to work including the ability to work under pressure
  • Keen eye for Health & Safety, reporting all relevant incidents and potential issues through the ALERT system
  • Excellent day-to-day time management, both personally and for your daily work schedule
  • Good level of verbal and written English
  • Physically fit and able to cope with the demands of a physically demanding role with demands such as standing for long periods, lifting and moving products up to 23kg in weight, lifting, bending, reaching above the head, kneeling, crouching, stretching, pushing and pulling product up to 23kg
  • Manual dexterity of both hands and wrists

Ideal background and qualifications:

  • Strong stock management knowledge, highly organised and to be able to self-start
  • Fun, confident and enthusiastic personality who takes real pride in achieving exceptional customer service
  • Proficient in IT with an understanding of spread sheets, word processing and social media
  • Able to communicate with all levels of internal & external customer
  • Confident in serving customers via a POS system

  • The role is a Zero Hours contract
  • 16 hours per week

  • Start date: Beginning of October

  • End date: End of December

  • Tuesday – Sunday, Rostered between 10.00am & 6.00pm

  • Must be able to work Saturdays and Sundays
