Mō te tūranga | About the Role

This is a multipost role to cover both kitchen and housekeeping shifts

Role 1: Housekeeping

Our Housekeepers contribute to the quality of life of our residents by maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene across our community, and ensuring a comfortable environment for our residents

You will be responsible for cleaning all areas within our community - including resident rooms and the interior of our facilities. You will liaise with other team members to identify areas that require special cleaning and collaborate with your supervisor in maintaining supplies and equipment. 

Role 2: Kitchen assistant

You will also support the Head Chef / Kitchen Manager through kitchen and meal preparation including assembling and preparing ingredients, baking, cooking, toasting, and heating food items. You will also be responsible for keeping the kitchen and scullery areas clean, tidy, and safe, as well as delivering efficient food service to our residents and providing a high level of customer service.

• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience 
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
• The ability to work cohesively with colleagues as part of a team, and be highly responsible and reliable
• The ability to focus on our resident needs and remain calm and courteous
• A good level of physical fitness
• Experience working within a commercial kitchen or similar environment
• Highly motivated, able to take initiative, and flexible.
• Great hygiene standards and commitment to health and safety
• Ability to work closely with, and support, your colleagues
