Summary
The client is seeking a Data Warehousing Senior Programmer to provide Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Support Services with a team supporting the Federal client. As the Data Warehousing Programmer – Providing functional/technical solutions to improve the existing design as well as build new Dashboards, Reports, KPIs, ETLs, and Advanced Analytics using client Applications, Oracle Analytics Server (OAS)/Business Intelligence (OBIEE), Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Visual Analyzer, Analytics, and other Oracle products. This will fulfill the agency’s mission to promote energy independence, progress scientific research, and protect the nation through nuclear security.
The IDW/iPortal is a single-entry point to business applications, content, collaborative tools, and websites that use portlets to present functionality to the users focusing on strategic communications, news and finance, communities of practice, and finance tools. As a key component of the Corporate Business Systems (CBS) program, client relies on IDW for internal executive, management, and operational reporting. IDW provides personalized dashboards, messaging (thresholds/alerts), reporting, graphing, and data exchange capabilities to client executives, managers, and staff. The IDW integrates accounting, procurement, and human capital data elements.
In this role, a typical day will include:
- Assess the current implementation of OAS/OBIEE including business, data, and system architecture, configurations, dashboards, ETLs, reports development, and provide recommendations and roadmaps for the future state solution architecture.
- Installation and configuration of system environments
- Assess client application modules and source data for various lines of business and architect solutions using Oracle Analytics (OA)/Business Intelligence (BI) tools and technologies.
- Collaborate effectively with customers, users, lines of business, and internal teams to come up with new requirements and OA/BI solutions
- Implement real-time optimal and scalable solutions with advanced analytics
- Assess the current data warehouse data model, and update and develop a new data model using data modeling tools
- Design and develop new OA/BI reports and ODI ETL processes following industry best practices
- Recommend application changes based on information such as client feedback, testing, requirement changes, and technology trends
- Responsible for the development of testing solutions/test plans/scenarios
- Conduct work group meetings, perform requirements analysis, application design, and develop functional and technical design documents
- Participate in and conduct peer reviews as needed
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or relevant discipline with 7 years of relevant experience in Extract Transform and Load (ETL) and Oracle Analytics. Without a degree, 8-10 years of relevant experience is required. Two-thirds of the experience needs to be in a data warehouse environment supporting Oracle Analytics with managing Oracle and Prism implementations being preferred
- Extensive experience using OAS/OBIEE, OA/BI Apps, ODI, Advanced Analytics, and Oracle database
- Experience with SQL, PL/SQL
- Identify and analyze business needs versus existing applications and serve as the expert guiding through innovative solutions
- Experience with Analytics and Data Visualization using Oracle Analytics tools and Visual Analyzer
- Full lifecycle ODI implementation experience including data modeling, data mart design and architecture, ETL design, and advanced customization and configuration of ODI repository objects including Mappings, Interfaces, Packages, Scenarios and Knowledge Modules
- Extensive experience configuring the OAS repository (RPD) at the physical, business model, and presentation layers to meet business requirements
- Extensive experience developing Dashboards, Analyses, Agents, Prompts, Actions, and other Presentation Services elements in OAS/OBIEE to meet business requirements
- Experience driving continuous improvement of business processes and technical operations.
- Good team player, able to manage multiple assignments, and adapt to changing client needs
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to business leaders
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a client Clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting
Preferred qualifications (optional)
- ITIL v3 or v4 certification
- Experience with ServiceNow for incident management, problem management, and service request management
- Oracle Analytics Server and Application Express certifications
- Functional or technical experience with federal Oracle e-Business Suite (EBS) and Unison/Compusearch PRISM
- Experience with Oracle SOA, Oracle Identity Management, and Oracle RAC
