Position: Tech Writer/Biz Analyst

Skills and Qualifications

•  Excellent communication skills are required; both written and verbal across all levels of management and disciplines.
• Advanced ability to communicate messages to technical, business, or layman audiences in both a verbal and written medium
• Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt to evolving task requirements.
• Ability to produce original and comprehensive documentation on complex subjects (system integration, API specifications).
• Ability to produce original technical and business illustrations, graphics, and diagrams to communicate complex concepts.

Familiarity with and ability to learn new software and tools quickly.

• Collaborative communication tools such as:
• Slack, Google Apps Suite, Jive, Wiki,
• Markdown Language, SWAGGER API documentation with YAML (required)
• Diagramming & illustration tools (Visio/Omnigraffle/Lucid Chart)

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

• College degree or equivalent related experience.
•  2-4 years’ industry experience as an effective technical writer.
• Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences.
• Superior writer and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Experience working with engineering to improve user experience: design, UI, and help refine content and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content.
• Familiarity and experience with the mechanics of professional technical writing and communication theory.
• Familiarity and experience with instructional design.
• Familiarity and experience with proofreading and publishing workflow.
• Familiarity and experience in a software development and creative environment
• Familiarity and experience developing logical structure for technical documents, content and illustrations.
• Familiarity and experience tailoring documentation to the intended audience (basic, intermediate, and advanced).
• Familiarity and experience conducting meetings, interviews, and eliciting technical details from subject matter experts.
