Job Description

Position:

To support the expansion of our Basel office, ARTELIA Industrie Suisse SA is looking for a Senior Project & Business Development Manager acting as Deputy Agency Director for the Basel region.

This role combines business development, project/portfolio management, and local office leadership within the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Reporting to the Office Director and Swiss management, you will contribute directly to the growth of our activities in one of Switzerland’s major industrial hubs.

 

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Client Management

  • Develop ARTELIA’s presence in the Basel industrial ecosystem (BS, BL, AG, SO, BE)
  • Leverage and expand your professional network to generate new business opportunities
  • Lead commercial activities from first contact to contract signature
  • Act as the main local contact for clients
  • Support the operational management of the Pratteln office as Deputy Agency Director
  • Contribute to strategic development of regional activities
  • Participate in recruitment and resource management (with HR support)

Project & Portfolio Management

  • Manage and supervise a portfolio of engineering projects
  • Lead projects as Project Manager when required
  • Ensure technical, financial, quality, and HSE performance
  • Prepare technical documentation, cost estimates, and project schedules

 

Qualifications

Profile

Education & Experience

  • Engineering degree (HES, ETH/EPFL or equivalent), preferably in chemical, pharmaceutical or process engineering
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in engineering or EPCM project management in chemical, pharmaceutical or process industries
  • Experience in business development, client acquisition, or senior project/portfolio management
  • Proven experience in team and resource management
  • Strong and active network in the Basel industrial region (essential)

Skills

  • Strong leadership and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Excellent client relationship and negotiation skills
  • Strong commercial and project delivery focus
  • Languages: Fluent German, English: Minimum B2, French: A strong asset but not mandatory
