Job Description
• Coordinate information flow from internal and external sources to facilitate the dissemination of accurate, timely, consistent, and balanced information to internal and external customers including external healthcare professionals, internal Novartis personnel ,and sometimes consumers/patients.
• Research and respond to written and oral inquiries from internal and external customers. Develop standard response documents, create unique responses, and revise/update existing documents in database. Receive, document and report spontaneous reports fo possible adverse drug reactions. Search, evaluate and summarize the published medical and scientific literature.
• Work independently yet ensure strategic alignment of information with key internal stakeholders and experts as necessary. Participate in the creation of, and ensure adherence to departmental and corporate policies and qualilty standards. Answers phone calls, emails and faxes with appropriate and accurate responses, taking care to report all Medical Safety issues. Follows up with callers, maintains compliance with all applicable policies and regulations, and accurately completes cases within acceptable time frame.
• This position requires quick analysis of situations and skillful communication to satisfy customers and obtain a maximum amount of information needed for successful documentation of inquiries and medical safety cases.
The ability to work closely with a team to manage schedules and phone coverage is a necessity.
Qualifications
• Three or more years’ experience. Two or more years of experience in medical product information or customer relations. Demonstrated strong intranet and internet research skills and computing skills, including Alcon databases.
Excellent communication skills by phone, and in written communications. Proven history with successfully handling challenging interactions.
• Good documentation practices. Experience utilizing correct grammar, spelling and typing speed. Familiarity with medical terminology – understanding and pronouncing.
• **Spanish a plus**.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, pharmacy, pharmacology or applicable science or related field.
• Certification by NCLE and/or JCAHPO.
