She/he will be responsible for maintaining high capacity cell culture, delivering high quality data to the team, presenting results at meetings, and adapting the assay to the needs of the program. The successful candidate will make use of problem solving, critical thinking, and effective written and oral presentation skills in a highly-matrixed team environment. Candidates must have meticulous work habits and excellent record keeping and organizational skills. This candidate is required to work closely and collaboratively with colleagues, requiring proactive communication and a teamwork mentality.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Mammalian cell culture: passage and feed cells in flask culture as well as microtiter plates; both primary cells and cell lines

• Compound handling: prepare stock solutions from powders, prepare dilutions, treat cells with compound solutions, media formulations

• Design workflow, procedures and experiments in consultation with supervisor.

• Report results at CF biology team, project team

• Train and collaborate with junior colleagues and student interns.

• Weekend work will be required occasionally.

• Experience with culture of primary cells, preferentially human airway cells

• Work on Cystic Fibrosis in a drug discovery setting

• Experience with large-scale cell culture
