Job Description
- The Scientist will function as part of the Oncology Translational Research group within the Oncology Prostate Cancer Disease Area Stronghold (Prostate DAS). This main function for this position is to drive translational research projects and collaborations across the DAS, both for compound specific programs and for broader Prostate DAS specific projects.
- The Scientist will work independently and in conjunction with the Prostate DAS Translational Research leader to guide translational collaborations and projects within compound specific programs and across the Prostate DAS.
- He/she will develop, implement, and deliver on translational collaborations and projects, including initial proposal development, planning timelines and resources, monitoring milestones and final deliverables.
- He/she will also work closely with biomarker leads of clinical programs to implement projects and collaborations to explore Client indications and new drug combinations for compounds in clinical development.
- To this end, the translational scientist may also guide working groups to implement Prostate DAS translational strategy and manage ongoing programs and projects. Finally, the scientist should be able to communicate project deliverables to the leaders of the Prostate DAS, Oncology therapeutic area (TA) leaders, and other senior governance groups when necessary.
- The Senior Scientist will interact and liaison with internal experts, external experts, academic groups, and CROs to establish collaborations and projects. He/She will ensure common scientific standards, implement data transfer and sharing, and communicate final project and collaboration results.
- In addition, he/she will communicate timelines, deliverables, contractual obligations, and results back to biomarker leaders, Prostate DAS leaders, compound development teams (CDT) and other relevant groups. He/She will be responsible for the accurate recording and reporting of all data generated or analyzed in accordance with requirements set-forth by the department.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Molecular Biology or related field with at least 3 experience of applicable translational, biomarker, program management, clinical trial and/or research experience OR
- MS in Molecular Biology or related field with at least 5 experience of applicable translational, biomarker, program management, clinical trial and/or research experience OR
- BS in Molecular Biology or related field with at least 8 experience of applicable translational, biomarker, program management, clinical trial and/or research experience.
- Experience in managing multi-faceted projects and programs is required. Experience in Industry and Translational Research is preferred.
- Experience in Immuno-Oncology including cellular based assays, flow cytometry, and preclinical models of immuno-oncology is preferred. Candidate should have a strong publication record and strong communication skills.
