Title: Scientist I/Chemist
Location West Irvine, CA

Job Description:
• Sets up, operates and maintains laboratory instruments, monitors experiments, makes observations, calculates and records results, and often develops conclusions.
• Perform all manufacturing processes in accordance with GMPs,SOPs, TMs safety rules and production schedule.
• Under general supervision following SOPs and special test designs; analyzes test data and completes required documentation. Performs QC/equipment maintenance, understands lab safety involving potentially infectious bio-waste and is a team player.
• Performs qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis if raw materials, monomer, polymer, and suture products.
• Supports QA test method improvements.
• Team member in the QA chemical laboratories to provide back up test analysis for the QA chemical laboratory team. Knowledge and experience in materials testing disposition, and control.
• May investigate testing abnormalities and implement corrective action.
• Performs analytical testing special projects by supporting the development of new methods and test transfers and performing investigative test analysis as required.
• Assists with validation and test methods and test correlations.
• Train QA chemical technicians to perform new QA test methods.
• Clean and maintain production areas and equipment accordind to procedures.Individual is familiar with basic scientific principles and has had some laboratory experience. Can follow written direction and maintain a laboratory notebook.
• Has good communication skills and is computer literate. A degree, GMP, GLP, FDA, RCRA, and OSHA knowledge may be required.
