Job Description

Executive Summary: The Branch Monitoring Group (BMG) is a proactive MSWM Branch-monitoring functional team, tasked with hygiene, stability and proactive problem identification across our field locations and FA population with a focus on desktop and branch network stability and performance. This includes health checks of the desktop environment (service pack updates, disk space capacity, java version checks, etc.), alert management, and maintenance file shares for end users and managing iWin assignments across the space. They work across a myriad of resolution and escalation teams to ensure ongoing operational health of the end-user environment. Responsibilities include: · Monitor the desktop and branch network environment using a combination of tools, alerts, and reporting dashboards · Respond to alerts, perform first-level triage and escalate to resolvers as necessary · Identify environmental issues and participate in the problem management process · Capacity management for network file servers/shares · Ensure PC environment is running optimally and remediate any health issues · Create and update reporting records for monitored items and newly discovered issues · Manage provisioning of virtual Windows machines for MSWM · Knowledge Mgmt Process - Review and validate technical solutions; also provide feedback to improve the knowledge repository · Proactively identify process gaps and recommends solutions · Monitor desktops for a variety of end users, and work with resolver teams on corrective actions Qualifications/Skills: Required: · Excellent knowledge of Windows 7 Operating System · Prior knowledge of VMware and Citrix · Intermediate Knowledge of MS Exchange/Messaging applications, including but not limited to Outlook, MOC/Skype, and Group Chat · Excellent writing skills Would be a plus to have: · Working knowledge of PowerShell, VBScript, JavaScript, HTML · Intermediate knowledge of Network Architecture and Topologies · Knowledge of monitoring tools for Networkand Workstations, including but not limited to Netuitive, SevOne, Corvil, Splunk, and SysTrack. · Mac support knowledge
