Summer Internship at Arnsdorf

  • Intern

Company Description

Arnsdorf is taking a transparent approach to fashion and retail. We believe that what you wear has a direct impact on the way you feel and your well being which has a profound impact on every aspect of your life. As an Australian and New York-based brand we had been operating through the traditional fashion lifecycle and although our love for clothing and design remained true, we felt a growing sense of uneasiness around the way the fashion industry was set up. The lack of transparency; the outsourcing of production and ethics; the alienation of women; the environmental trauma and never ending oversupply and waste. It all seemed rigged and unavoidable. In May 2017 we have been reborn with a new approach to fashion and transparency.

Job Description

Modern archetypical clothing for women of style and purpose.

We're looking for summer interns to work through the holiday period to help us realise the vision of changing the industry and consumers towards transparent ways of creating luxury fashion. Over a three month period, working 1-2 days per week as an unpaid intern, you'll gain exposure to every aspect of modern retail.

You will ideally have fashion production background so that means having a practical, hands on understanding of the design process.

Through your work you will assist the Arnsdorf team with all areas of the design, production and promotion.

You will learn the following:

  • Learn about our new local domestic production process
  • Learn how modern retail works
  • Learn how purpose lead production works in a retail environment

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Learning and assisting in the different roles across the production process
  • Included in these processes is the education of production planning, design, product development and finally cutting and sewing in our factory
