Job Description

What you will need to do:

- Sourcing & Procurement:

Identify and evaluate suppliers for instrumentation and control systems, ensuring that they conform to industry standards and the requirements of the project.

Prepare and issue RFQs and RFPs for instrumentation packages.

Carry out technical and commercial evaluations of bids received from suppliers. Negotiate price, terms, and delivery schedule.

Ensure the timely product/equipment delivery as per the project’s timeline.

Coordinate with different discipline engineers to ensure that the requirements to be procured are as per the design and project’s specifications.

-Technical Expertise:

-Ensure that procured instrumentation, including flow meters, pressure transmitters, level sensors, and control valves, fulfills project specifications and standards such as API, ISO, and IEC. Also, interact with engineering teams to verify the compatibility of equipment with design requirements. Technical queries will need to be ironed out along with liaising with suppliers for clarification during the procurement and installation phases.

-Vendor Management

Establish and maintain relationships with approved instrumentation vendors and contractors.

Audit current vendors and assess supplier performance regarding quality, delivery, and service.

Ensure that proper documentation, including certification, test reports, and compliance documents, are maintained accordingly.

- Project Coordination:

-Coordinate, communicate, and liaise with EPC project teams on procurement strategies that meet project schedules.

- Track orders and delivery schedules as necessary to ensure the arrival at project sites on time.

- Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of instrumentation systems.

- Cost Control & Compliance:

- Track budgets and ensure cost-effective procurement strategies are realized without compromising quality.

- Comply with local and international procurement regulations, company policies, and safety standards.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

- Minimum 5+ years of procurement experience in the oil and gas sector, with a focus on instrumentation and control systems, ICSS, Field Instrument, Telecommunication System and Bulk Instrumentation.

- Knowledge in ERP software or customized Procurement System for easy tracking of transactions.

- Proven knowledge of sourcing strategies, vendor negotiations, and technical evaluation of instrumentation.
