Job Description

We are constantly growing and are currently looking for a qualified Project Controls Engineer to join our top qualified and knowledgeable Operations Control team in our project in Umluj, Saudi Arabia.

What you will need to do:

  • Drafts project-specific Project Controls Procedures as per contract requirements.
  • Initiates, coordinates and maintains Project List(s) of Deliverables including those for project procedures and plans, engineering, procurement, material submittals, method statements etc.
  • Puts together procurement packages including quantities take-off, contract specifications and technical requirements, delivery schedule etc.
  • Initiates and maintains Procurement Status Register.
  • Prepares and maintains Subcontractors Register.
  • Assists in drafting subcontract agreements and negotiating subcontract prices.
  • Assists in subcontracts administration and related correspondences, measurements, payment certification, closing final account etc.
  • Coordinates and maintains Engineering Deliverables Status Register.
  • Prepares a List of Project Materials along with the required quantities and maintains continuous project materials reconciliation.
  • Ensures that project records and diaries are maintained including photos, list of daily activities, climate conditions, utilized & idle resources, productivities, important events, verbal site instructions, etc.
  • Monitors the Contract Scope of Work and any Variations thereto.
  • Prepares and maintains Variations and Claims Registers.
  • Collects, maintains and groups contemporary records necessary for assessment and substantiation of Variations and Claims.
  • Prepares Variation and Claim submissions.
  • Collaborates with quantity surveyors in preparing and submitting monthly payment requests.
  • Assists in preparing budget and current estimates and monitor any variances.
  • Participates in establishing project cost centers and allocates costs accordingly.
  • Participates in preparing Project internal and external reports in the required format using the Project maintained records and information and the analysis thereof as necessary.
  • Liaises with project different sections in project controls and commercial matters.
  • Replaces cost control engineer, quantity surveyor or planner when necessary.
  • Deputizes Project Controls Manager in certain tasks if and when required.
  • Participates in preparing the Project Close-Out Report and Lessons Learnt.
  • Monitors the status of project activities and manage changes to the schedule baseline to achieve the plan.

What you will need to have:

  • Degree in Engineering (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical)
  • Experienced as Project Controls Engineer, experience in dredging and reclamation works will be an added advantage.
  • 05 – 10 years of experience in similar role (mainly in GCC). 
  • Hands-on experience with cost and time controls.
  • Deep knowledge and experience of costing and budgeting.
  • Well understanding and experience of planning and scheduling techniques.
  • Excellent monitoring and reporting skills using KPIs and Dashboards.
  • Good awareness of administration of construction contracts. 
  • Good analytical thinking and writing skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Well-experienced on Reporting.
  • Excellent computer literacy with Primavera, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Primavera (P6) will be an advantage
