Job Description

We are constantly growing and currently looking for an experienced Instrument Engineer to join our Instrumentation Engineering Discipline of our Engineering Department in Athens.

Role Summary: 

You will be working with a team of highly knowledgeable professionals, and you will undertake and perform accurately and confidently engineering, coordination and project team supporting tasks throughout the stages of international Oil and Gas/Energy Projects from tendering to startup and operation, leading effectively other team members under responsibility.

What will you need to do:

  • Assist the Instrument Discipline Head in the performance of everyday work especially with regards to internal co-ordination, external interfaces handling and Discipline Technical advancement and development.
  • Participate in projects tender stage. This includes reviewing of Tender docs (technical specifications, drawings, schedules, BOQs etc) and identifying any points of concern/mismatches among tender documents that could have a cost impact. Prepare Technical Queries for Instrumentation related issues and respond to vendor queries. Coordinate with other disciplines.
  • Prepare material requisitions during project tender stage based on design project requirements and materials take-offs for all items and materials.
  • Prepare key project documents (like Design Basis, instrument/systems specifications, data sheets, materials take-offs, IO lists, layouts, routings, loop drawings, etc.) as required.
  • Review and approve instrument documents received by 3rd parties (Engineering Subcontractors / Vendors) and identify any problems/design issues.
  • Perform technical bid evaluations for vendor offers and technical review of vendor drawings and documents.
  • Participate in meetings with CLIENT/SUBCONTRACTOR/VENDOR related to Instrument Discipline issues.
  • Participate in site visits, project review meetings, design reviews and other workshops as required.
  • Provide input to other disciplines, in order to develop deliverables such as Scope of Work for Engineering services etc.
  • Provide technical support to project and site team.
  • Optimize instrument systems design by ensuring reduced costs with the requested performance.
  • Work in accordance with the requirements of company IMS procedures.

What you will need to have:

  • Be or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Chemical Engineering, and MSc (preferably in an international English-speaking University).
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of relevant experience related to Oil & Gas/Energy Projects and detailed engineering experience in the field of expertise (Instrument engineering).
  • Technical competence in Instrument engineering with strong technical background, and advanced analytical skills in basic and detailed engineering design from project feasibility stage to plant commissioning and start-up.
  • Technical competence in Telecom/F&G systems engineering would be a definite advantage.
  • Previous exposure to international environment will be considered an advantage.
  • Experience using relevant Instrumentation commercial software applicable to Oil & Gas/Energy projects (like SPI, SP3D, etc).
  • In depth knowledge of international codes & standards, international design guidelines & recommendations (like ISA, NFPA, BS EN, IEC, NEC, etc).
  • Experience in Environmental regulatory requirements (local, international), review and understanding of local Environmental Laws would be a definite advantage.
  • Mobility to participate in working teams at Archirodon’s project home offices throughout the countries where its EPC projects are executed.
  • Excellent command (written and oral) of the English language.
