Job Description

We are constantly growing, and we are currently looking for an experienced Chief Accountant to join our top qualified and knowledgeable Finance team in our Athens Office.

Role Summary:                 

You will be part of the Finance team dedicated to Archirodon’s construction joint venture and support on the supervision of the Accounting Section in its day-to-day activities. You will assist the Commercial Manager in establishing, implementing finance and accounting best practices that are in line with Archirodon Accounting Standards.

What you will need to do:

  • Oversee processing of accounting transactions both per Greek law and Group reporting requirements
  • Manage monthly/periodic closings - reporting and in all other Group's requests
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures and audit requirements and also guide subordinates in keeping high quality standards of accounting (i.e. minimal errors in accounting entries, timely submission of reports, etc)
  • Review trial balances and reports on regular basis to check completeness/accuracy of the information therein, and initiate relevant or corrective actions where necessary 
  • Post entries whenever necessary

What you will need to have:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
  • Master degree in relevant areas is gladly welcomed
  • At least seven (7)years of experience in accounting firm or in-house accounting department in accounting entries of class B or C books and records, A' class of books signatory rights is considered beneficial 
  • Strong knowledge of the accounting cycle, principles and procedures
  • Pervious experience in construction industry is considered an advantage
  • Keen interest in and thorough understanding of IFRS financial reporting principles and practices
  • Excellent knowledge in MS Office
  • Thorough knowledge of well-known accounting software for accounting and reporting purposes
  • Professional proficiency in English
