Job Description

We are constantly growing and are currently looking for Senior level Engineers of our core engineering disciplines (Marine, Structural, Geotechnical and Hydraulic) with a diverse profile and qualified (or interested) in Project Engineering and Engineering Management, to join our Engineering Department in Athens.

Job Summary:

You will be working with a team of highly knowledgeable professionals within Engineering Department of Archirodon, to support engineering activities throughout the entire life cycle of international Marine, Infrastructure, and Industrial projects, from Front End Engineering Design (FEED) to tender design, detailed design, and construction. Within a collaborative working environment, you will be required to undertake efficiently and accurately engineering design tasks pertinent to your engineering discipline (Marine, Structural, Geotechnical or Hydraulic), but also to liaise with other discipline engineers and external engineering firms/consultants reviewing engineering deliverables and coordinating activities, pursuing integrated, streamlined and constructible engineering design packages.

What you will need to do:

  • Undertake and perform efficiently and accurately engineering design tasks corresponding to engineering discipline (Civil, Geotechnical, Marine, Structural), including engineering analysis, preparation of drawings and drafting technical notes and calculation notes.
  • Coordinate with members of other engineering disciplines for developing integral and seamless engineering solutions, for project proposal (tender) or project implementation phases. Strive for design optimization and undertake value engineering exercises, working in close collaboration with the rest of the project  team.
  • Review engineering deliverables provided by third parties (engineering subcontractors) pertaining to your engineering discipline, but also general civil engineering drawings and documents, to ensure compliance with project specs, codes and standards with due consideration of constructability requirements.
  • Liaise and interface with other Company functions (i.e., tendering and procurement departments) and provide the required engineering input (i.e., for cost estimation and procurement of materials and equipment).
  • Assist the Project Engineering Manager in managing the day-to-day engineering activities of the assigned project/tender.
  • Organize, contribute, and prepare notes and PowerPoint presentations for multidisciplinary meetings and workshops.
  • Prepare engineering scoping documents for complex multidisciplinary projects and analyze the scope into Engineering deliverables and activities.
  • Ensure that Company and Project quality procedures and ISO standards are properly implemented.

What you need to have:

  • BE or equivalent in Engineering, and an MSc (preferably in an international English-speaking University in Europe or USA) or equivalent, in relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of Engineering experience, designing works related to Marine Structures, and/or Infrastructure Projects (roads, railways, industrial plants) and/or Major Building projects. Project Engineering Management experience is a plus.
  • Work experience in an international environment will constitute an important advantage.
  • Strong engineering background with a wide, cross-discipline grasp and proven technical competence (including strong analytical skills) in your Engineering discipline. Interdisciplinary work, experience working within, or organizing, multidisciplinary teams or operate within a matrix organization frame is a plus.
  • Very good knowledge of applicable international codes & standards, international design guidelines & recommendations pertaining to your discipline. Awareness of the requirements of environmental regulations, sustainability requirements and permitting procedures is also warranted.
  • Project management skills: PMI certification, or equivalent, is a plus.
  • Familiarization with construction operations and awareness of construction technology is a plus.
  • Mobility is highly desirable, as it might be required to participate in working teams at Archirodon project home offices throughout the countries that Archirodon executes EPC projects.
  • Good command of analysis tools pertinent to your discipline (Structural, Geotechnical, Marine etc.) as well as AutoCAD and Office software.
  • Excellent command (written and oral) of English language.
