Job Description

We are constantly growing and are currently looking for an Mechanical Cost Estimation Engineer (Mechanical Support Engineer) to join a top qualified and knowledgeable team of Engineers in our Regional Office in Cairo, Egypt

Role Summary:

You will perform cost estimation and evaluation studies for new task orders.

What you will need to do:

  • Conduct site surveys and visits to determine scope of work for required activities and provide cost estimate for the approved scope of work.
  • Preparation of coordination/shop and as-built drawings.
  • Design of temporary works.
  • Evaluation of technical submittals for project materials procured by site team.
  • Assist the Construction Manager and the Technical Office Manager to establish the construction methodology.
  • Support the Construction team in the preparation of construction documentation such as method statements, lifting plans, procedures, etc.
  • Support the design and implementation monitoring for temporary works and tools towards the execution of construction works.
  • Check technical details and drawings to ensure correct implementation in the field.
  • Assist at the design coordination.
  • Bar Bending Schedules.
  • Ensures implementation of Company’s IMS and approved templates to the extent to his activities.

What you will need to have:

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering 
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the Construction industry
  • Experience in cost estimation and technical evaluation studies for different mechanical systems (HVAC, Fire Fighting & Plumbing) is a MUST. Preferably in US Army Corps of Engineers projects
  • Familiar with Applied American Standards & Codes (ASHREA / SMACNA / NEC / IEEE / NFPA / ASME / API) to projects.
  • Experience with either Contractors or Consultants
  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft office applications and AutoCAD
  • Very good communication in English
  • Strong knowledge and awareness with the local market.
  • Team worker, cope with pressure, to-do mindset.

What it is nice to have:

  • Previous experience with USACE projects would be nice to have
