Job Description

We are constantly growing and are currently looking for a Dredging Site Engineer to join a top qualified and knowledgeable team of Engineers in our newly awarded project in Saudi Arabia.

What you will need to do:

A. Business Needs

  • Understands, follows and applies Company’s IMS and especially Dredging & Pipe Laying Division policies, procedures, work instructions and forms.
  • Develops Project specific documentation (Method Statements, Work procedures, Risk Assessments, etc.) and updates as required.
  • Provides input to the Construction Manager or Section Head for the development of the detailed project plan. Ensures that dredging activities are executed as per project plan.
  • Daily management of the project activities under his area(s) of responsibility and daily monitoring of the progress of the work.
  • Collects accurate data of the dredger’s performance (e.g. production and utilisation). When necessary liaise with other parties, e.g. the Survey Department and the Dredging Superintendent. Provides accurate, high-quality, and credible daily production reports for the dredger.
  • Monitors the performance of the dredging equipment, assesses performance and suggests efficiency improvement activities. 
  • Ensures works are carried out as per Method Statements, project specific Work procedures and quality standards.
  • Ensures equipment is maintained in good condition during the project execution phase and operated and deployed in accordance with its design and operating parameters.
  • Prepares purchase requests for material required by site team.
  • Ensures works is conducted in a safe manner and in accordance to HSE regulations. Ensures that his team is educated with the HSE rules and fully comply with them. Cooperates constructively, efficiently and effectively with Site HSE team.
  • Prepares progress reports (daily, weekly, monthly) for the Construction Manager or Section Head on milestones, work done and planning.

B. Expected results and timeframe

  • Contribute towards optimization of Works Plan and optimization of resources.
  • Captures work methodology to minimize document review cycles.
  • Achieve a Zero incidents rating for all implemented Project HSE procedures.

 

What you will need to have:

  • BSc. of Engineering in either Civil, Mechanical or Maritime Engineering from a reputable educational institution
  • From 2 to 7 years of experience, preferably in a similar role
  • Professional working proficiency (written and oral) of English language
  • Leadership capabilities, good communication skills and ability to work autonomous
  • Good knowledge of AUTOCAD, MS OFFICE software.
  • Max age 35

 

What it is nice to have:

  • Experience in EPC industry
  • Experience in the field of dredging or marine construction will be an advantage

  • Basic knowledge of contracting methods and contract administration will be a an advantage.
