We are constantly growing and are currently looking for a talented Assistant Accountant to support our Finance department in our Athens Office and manage daily accounting tasks.

Role Summary: 

You will be working with a team of highly knowledgeable professionals to contribute to the Group’s financial and accounting efficiency and robustness while executing its’ statutory obligations.

What will you need to do:

• Post and process journal entries and bookkeeping both in accordance with Greek law and the Group reporting requirements (IFRS) to ensure that all transactions are recorded
•  Participate in monthly/periodic closings - reporting and in all other Group’s requests.
• Perform bank, suppliers’, enter/intra Group accounts reconciliation agreements on a monthly basis
• Calculate and record all accruals and assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and Group accounting and financial guidelines
• Assist in the preparation of reporting forms, balance sheet & oncome statement according to Group’s accounting standards
• Apply internal control and governance procedures
• Deliver ad hoc requests and participate in other accounting projects when requested
• Work closely with the internal and external auditors’ team

What you will need to have:

• BSc in Accounting, Finance or Economics; MSc in relevant areas is gladly welcomed
• One (1) to three (3) of proven experience in a similar position within an accounting firm or in-house accounting department
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office
• Full professional proficiency in English
• Working knowledge of a well-known accounting software; prior working exposure to Anacoda WinDos or Entersoft Expert is considered an asset
• Good knowledge of the accounting cycle, principles and procedures
• Keen interest in and a basic understanding of IFRS financial reporting principles and practice

What it is nice to have:

• Working exposure to IFRS reporting standards
• Hands on experience with payroll systems; If this is Pylon HRM the better!
• Familiarity or work exposure to SAP BPC
