Job Description

We are constantly growing and are currently looking for a Process Design Engineer, to join our Engineering Department in our Athens Office.

Role summary:

Undertake and perform accurately and confidently design tasks of his/her engineering discipline at all stages of a project (from feasibility to detailed design), also leading effectively other team members under his/her supervision.

What you will need to do:

  • Prepare design deliverables of his/her Engineering discipline during tender preparation or during project execution
  • Assist in the selection of optimum solutions/systems/equipment through analysis of information, proposals, and evaluation of results
  • Assess the potential risks of specific engineering designs and assist in the development of alternative design solutions/systems that better meet project requirements
  • Collaborate with and/or review the work of external consultants at tender and project implementation phases
  • Ensure compliance with applicable design engineering international codes and standards, guidelines and recommendations, project (HSE, HAZOP, EIA, QRA, etc.), statutory, and safety requirements
  • Perform technical bid evaluations of vendor offers and technical review of Vendor drawings and documents, for conformance with contract requirements
  • Assist the Engineering Team Managers, or Project Engineering Managers in the organization of project/tender team, the distribution of engineering work, as well as in the forecast of design workload
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the project teams and Clients
  • Assist in executing and coordinating assignments within agreed budget and schedule
  • Consistently keep abreast of new design, construction methods, equipment and technologies. Keep up to date with applicable International and Local Codes, Standards and Legislation
  • Assist in the effective training and development of the team members under his/her supervision
  • Participate in design review meetings, 3D Model Reviews, etc., as well as reviews by third parties
  • Provide technical support on site
  • Participate in start-up and technical service field assignments as required

Qualifications

What you will need to have:

  • BEng or equivalent in Process/Chemical Engineering or in related Engineering Field
  • MSc or equivalent (studies in an international English-speaking University in Europe or USA would be an advantage) in relevant field of expertise
  • Minimum seven (7) years of relevant design experience in works related to Power & Water, and Oil & Gas Projects
  • Technically competence in Process Engineering, and strong technical background, and advanced analytical skills in: Feasibility studies, Conceptual design, Front End Engineering Design and process design for various process systems in Oil & Gas and Power Generation industry. Operating philosophies, equipment and instrumentation process data sheets, systems duty specifications. Process Flow Diagrams, P&I Diagrams, etc. Verification of process design during tender stage. Detailed process design calculations and development of basic process design. Process design simulations and safety systems basic design
  • Deep knowledge of International design standards related to process design and safety (e.g., ASME, API, NFPA etc.)
  • Proficiency in engineering process and flow simulation software (e.g., AspenHYSYS, AspenEDR, Aspen Flare System Analyzer, SimSci PROII, PIPENET, PIPESIM). Experience in use of hazard analysis software packages (e.g., Phast DNV) would be an advantage
  • Work experience in an international environment will constitute an important advantage
  • Experience in Environmental regulatory requirements (local, international), review and understanding of local Environmental Laws would be a definite advantage
  • Mobility is highly desirable to participate in working teams at Archirodon’s project home offices throughout the countries that Archirodon executes its EPC projects
  • Excellent command (written and oral) of the English language
  • Good command of the French language would be a definite advantage
