Job Description

Assignment: Night Shift

We are looking for a dynamic and engaging Senior Accountant for an opportunity to join an industry-leading Property & Casualty insurance carrier focused on partnering with Reinsurers, MGAs/Program Administrators, and Insurtechs.

We provide access to commercial and personal lines utilizing our admitted and non-admitted capabilities across all 50 states. You would join a deeply experienced and broadly talented operating team where your experience and drive will become instrumental in further growing our business.

In addition to the day-to-day coordination of activities related to internal and external functions supporting the finance department this position is also responsible for but are not limited to the following:

  • Prepare monthly program journal entries for the direct and ceded business
  • On a monthly basis reconcile cash to each program’s premium bordereaux
  • Prepare quarterly and annual Statutory statements, footnotes, and schedules
  • Assist Compliance in quarterly and annual data calls
  • Assist and provide support with annual external audit
  • Identify and improve efficiencies with the monthly close
  • Support & assist in the implementation of a data feed into the general ledger to expedite monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
  • Build reports for quarterly and annual statutory reporting
  • Work closely with Claims manager to ensure TPA’s are funded timely
  • Assist in preparing slides for the Board and Audit committee meetings
  • Assist on various adhoc projects
  • Work collaboratively with reinsurance, actuarial and program managers to resolve reconciling items
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience

  • 3-5 years experience in an insurance accounting role within a property & casualty insurance company, specifically with statutory reporting software skills
  • Client-centric mindset focused on delivering superior service, troubleshooting, identifying solutions, and results oriented
  • Strong organizational & interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as well
  • Strong technical skills incorporating appropriate tools (excel spreadsheets, Word, PowerPoint, other tools
