Job Description

The Finance Analyst will prepare workpapers, journal entries, and reconciliations for selected programs. The senior accountant will have ownership over the economics for their select programs ensuring accuracy.

Qualifications

• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

• Prepare and monitor program economics for select programs including monthly program entries, reconciliations, and cash application.

• Provide technical support to the Finance Teams (AP, AR, Bank Reconciliation, Claims Payable, Reporting).

• Support quarter-end and year-end close processes, expense allocation process and any internal reporting for the Group.

• Provide leadership and drive for quality and accuracy.

• Help with ad-hoc projects as required

Required Skills/Experience

• Exposure to US GAAP

• Knowledge and experience in insurance accounting (5+ years)

• Strong attention to detail

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• The ability to communicate effectively with individuals

• Strong work ethic and the ability to take initiative to work without supervision

• Technical knowledge of reinsurance terms, contracts, and cash settlement practices

• Ability to use initiative and self-manage to resolve issues independently

• Strong computer skills, in particular, proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications, primarily Excel

• Ability to grasp new concepts, systems and applications quickly and efficiently

• Candidates need to be flexible with their schedule since shift may change depending on the needs of the team.

• Extra time may be required during quarter close and financial reporting close.

• Knowledge and experience in P&C insurance and reinsurance would be a plus

• Knowledge and experience in Sarbanes-Oxley or any equivalent internal controls design and implementation background.
