We are currently recruiting for a Food Service Assistant to join our team at MOD Caledonia, Rosyth, KY11 2XH. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced catering professional to work within a busy Defence Services environment, supporting food service delivery while maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, food safety, and customer service.

What you'll be doing

• Serving food and beverages to customers following prescribed portion control and presentation standards
• Assisting with basic cold food preparation
• Cleaning back-of-house areas, crockery, cutlery, and catering equipment
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout service areas, customer areas, and welfare facilities
• Dusting, polishing, vacuuming, and ensuring all public areas remain presentable
• Reporting customer feedback, complaints, stock requirements, equipment faults, or hazards to management
• Maintaining accurate operational records as required
• Following food hygiene and health & safety procedures at all times
• Ensuring cleaning equipment and materials are maintained in safe working order
• Reporting equipment deficiencies and replacement requirements in a timely manner
• Supporting the wider catering team with operational duties as required

About you

• Previous experience in a similar catering or food service role is essential
• Current Basic Food Hygiene qualification
• Good understanding of catering hygiene procedures and food safety requirements
• Basic food preparation skills
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Proven record of reliability, attendance, and professional conduct
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy environment
• Positive, flexible, and proactive approach to work

• Successful candidates must be able to pass security vetting and DBS checks
