We are currently recruiting for a General Assistant to join our team at the High School of Dundee, DD4 7RG on a temporary maternity cover basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a friendly and reliable individual who enjoys working with children and being part of a supportive catering team.

In this role, you'll help deliver a positive lunchtime experience for nursery children, supporting food service while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer care.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting with the preparation and service of nursery lunches for children aged 3-5 years old
• Setting up, laying, and clearing dining tables
• Providing a friendly and positive service during meal times
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness within dining and service areas
• Assisting with washing up and general kitchen duties as required
• Following food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures
• Supporting the wider catering team with daily operations

About you

• Experience within a catering, hospitality, or food service environment
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly approach
• Flexible and willing to support the needs of the team
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
• Reliable, punctual, and enthusiastic attitude

Important Requirements

• Successful candidates will be required to obtain a PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) Scheme membership/check prior to commencing employment.
• This position is offered as a temporary maternity leave vacancy.
