Aramark UK are currently recruiting for a Chef Manager to join our team in Bayston Hill, Shrewsbury, SY3 0NU. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented culinary professional to lead a small catering team and deliver nutritious, high-quality meals to primary school children in a rewarding education environment.
Job Description
As Chef Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the school kitchen, ensuring pupils receive healthy, balanced meals while maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene, and service standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing a small catering team
- Planning, preparing, and serving nutritious meals for primary school children
- Organising daily kitchen operations to ensure a smooth and efficient service
- Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer service
- Managing stock ordering, stock control, and stock rotation
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, health and safety, and company procedures
- Completing all required kitchen paperwork and records
- Managing kitchen budgets and minimising food waste where appropriate
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment
- Building positive relationships with pupils, school staff, and visitors

Qualifications
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a chef or catering management role
- Experience leading or supervising a team
- Passion for producing nutritious, high-quality meals
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy kitchen environment
- Positive, proactive, and customer-focused approach
