Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant to join our team in Bridgend, CF35 6AP. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a large-scale catering operation, supporting the delivery of meals in a secure environment while helping to maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and customer service.

What you'll be doing
• Working alongside a team of chefs and enhanced inmates to deliver meals
three times per day
• Supervising and assisting enhanced inmates within the kitchen operation
• Preparing basic quality food items in line with pre-planned menus
• Ensuring the kitchen remains clean, organised, and compliant with hygiene
standards

• Carrying out stock checks and ensuring stock is managed effectively
• Completing all relevant paperwork, records, and due diligence documentation
accurately
• Supporting food safety, health & safety, and operational compliance
procedures
• Managing challenging situations professionally and resolving conflict where
required
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure efficient kitchen operations
• Undertaking training and development activities as required

 

Qualifications

About you
• Previous supervisory experience
• Relevant culinary qualification
• Experience working in a large-scale kitchen environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• Positive, proactive, and professional approach to work
• Ability to work within a secure environment and follow strict procedures

Additional Information

Important Requirements
• You must have resided in the UK continuously for the past 5 years and have the legal right to work in the UK
• The successful candidate will be required to pass full security vetting and DBS checks
