Aramark UK are currently recruiting for a Chef Supervisor to join our team at Bridgend, CF35 6AP. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced catering professional looking to develop their leadership skills within a busy, secure, and highly rewarding environment.
Job Description
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Chef Supervisor to support the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the main kitchen. Working as part of a rolling rota, you will help deliver approximately 1,800 breakfast packs, cold lunches, and hot evening meals each day while maintaining exceptional standards of food quality, hygiene, and security. You will also supervise prisoner workers within the kitchen, ensuring all procedures and professional boundaries are maintained.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Supporting the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the main kitchen as part of a rolling rota
- Working within a team consisting of a Head Chef, Chef Supervisors, and Chef Kitchen Assistants
- Assisting with the preparation and service of approximately 1,800 breakfast packs, cold lunches, and hot evening meals each day
- Ensuring lunches are prepared for dispatch at approximately 11:00 and evening meals at approximately 15:00
- Supervising the loading and distribution of meals to residential wings using heated food trolleys
- Completing accurate meal counts and maintaining effective portion control
- Supervising and working alongside approximately 10 to 12 prisoners within the kitchen
- Ensuring professional boundaries, security requirements, and site procedures are adhered to at all times
- Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, health and safety, and cleanliness within a secure environment
- Supporting and motivating the wider catering team to deliver an excellent service

Qualifications
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen or high-volume catering environment
- Strong food preparation, food service, and kitchen supervision skills
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, allergen controls, health and safety, and portion control
- Ability to lead, support, and motivate a team in a busy and secure environment
- Clear communication and strong organisational skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries when supervising prisoners
- Commitment to following all site security procedures
- Flexibility to work the rolling rota, including weekends
Additional Requirements
- Applicants must have UK residency for the past 5 years and hold the legal right to work in the UK.
- Ability to pass full DBS and security vetting is required.
- Employment is subject to satisfactory right to work checks.
