We are currently recruiting for a Chef de Partie to join our team at the British
Library, St Pancras, London, NW1 2DB. This is an exciting opportunity for a
talented chef to work within a prestigious venue, delivering high-quality food and
supporting a professional culinary team.
Job Description
As a Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for running your section of the kitchen,
ensuring food is prepared and presented to the highest standards while supporting
the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen.
Key responsibilities include:
• Preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes to a consistently high standard
• Managing and maintaining your designated kitchen section
• Supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef with daily kitchen operations
• Ensuring food quality, presentation, and portion control standards are met
• Following all food safety, health & safety, and hygiene procedures
• Assisting with stock control, stock rotation, and ordering processes
• Minimising food waste and maintaining cost-effective kitchen practices
• Supporting and mentoring junior kitchen team members where required
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment
• Contributing to menu development and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
• Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar chef role
• Strong culinary skills and passion for food
• Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
• Commitment to delivering high-quality food and service
• Flexible approach to working hours and business needs
