During the last few years IDIADA’s activities for electric vehicles have been growing significantly, together with considerable investments in new specific laboratories.

More than 100 engineers and technicians are currently working within our e-powertrain team on charging interfaces, battery systems, electric motor, power electronic components testing and general electric powertrain and vehicle development topics.

A challenging new position for our new battery safety laboratory is waiting for you.

Therefore, we are looking for a motivated engineer joining our battery team.

Job Description

As a member of the e-powertrain team, your role will involve carrying out validation tests for the batteries of the future in our brand new battery safety laboratory. Abuse tests of all kinds up to thermal propagation and fire tests will be conducted. The position will be based in IDIADA's premises in Santa Oliva (Spain).

Responsibilities

  • Test preparation and sample instrumentation: Configuration of test devices and data acquisition systems together with supervision installation of sensors and wiring.
  • Test execution: Conducting tests according to project requirements, following established procedures and client indications.
  • Test data analysis: Performing in-depth analysis of test data and elaborating comprehensive reports.
  • Process development and improvement: Scrutinize existing testing configuration, procedures and methodologies in order to improve efficiency and quality, ensuring customer satisfaction. Propose new ideas to expand the current services portfolio.

Qualifications

Education

  • Electronic, electrical, telecommunications engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Master's degree in power electronics, automotive field or related will be an asset.

 

Profile

  • Good knowledge in electronics, electricity, communication protocols and programming.
  • Knowledge in energy storage systems and power electronics will be valued.
  • Strong analytic and repair skills (problem solver mentality), technical curiosity and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of CAN communication and control tools: VECTOR CANoe, CANape, CANalyzer.
  • Experience in measurement technology and data acquisition systems.
  • Enthusiasm for measurement data analysis, spanning from initial post-processing to the meticulous reporting of final results.
  • Interest in new technologies, automotive and electric vehicles.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in discussions to effectively convey findings and insights to customers.
  • Committed, goal-driven, result-oriented and strong service orientation.
  • High level of assertiveness, team spirit and proactive attitude. Open to work in an international company with a multicultural team.

 

Languages

  • Written and oral fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Knowledge of other languages, particularly German, will be appreciated.
