About You

You are passionate about software quality and take ownership of ensuring applications perform reliably throughout the development lifecycle. You enjoy combining manual and automated testing approaches to identify risks, validate functionality, and help teams deliver high-quality products.

You are proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams while independently driving day-to-day QA activities. You are comfortable adapting between functional testing, automation, regression, defect validation, system testing, and UAT according to project needs.

You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is desired, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in Quality Assurance, Software Testing, or related roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience performing functional and regression testing of web applications.
  • Experience building, maintaining, and executing automated test suites for web applications.
  • Hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience testing REST APIs, including requests, responses, status codes, error scenarios, and integrations.
  • Experience independently designing and maintaining test plans, test cases, and regression suites based on requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong understanding of defect lifecycle management, including identification, documentation, reproduction, triage, validation, and regression verification.
  • Experience performing integration and system testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience working within Agile environments and collaborating directly with developers, Product teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to independently execute and manage assigned QA activities while proactively communicating progress, risks, defects, and blockers.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Professional English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice to Have:

  • Accessibility testing knowledge and familiarity with WCAG standards.
  • Experience supporting System Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Experience validating complex integrations or multi-system workflows.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD-integrated testing practices.
  • Experience working with distributed Agile/Scrum teams.
  • Experience supporting beta releases and user-feedback validation cycles.
  • Basic SQL and database validation experience.
  • Experience testing responsive and cross-browser web applications.

You Will Be Accountable for the Following Responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and regression suites based on business requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing for web applications throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts for critical business workflows and regression scenarios.
  • Execute API testing to validate requests, responses, integrations, error handling, and overall system behavior.
  • Identify, document, reproduce, and track defects with clear evidence and actionable information.
  • Verify bug fixes and execute targeted regression testing to ensure application stability.
  • Participate in defect triage activities and support issue prioritization based on impact, severity, and release risk.
  • Support beta testing cycles and validate feedback reported by users and stakeholders.
  • Support System Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) through final validation and sign-off.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, Product teams, and stakeholders to ensure quality objectives are met.
  • Maintain testing documentation and provide visibility into execution status, defects, risks, and blockers.
  • Independently manage testing deliverables within an established QA strategy.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience in Quality Assurance or Software Testing, including web application testing.
  • Strong hands-on experience with functional, regression, and automated testing.
  • Experience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or a comparable automation framework.
  • Hands-on experience testing REST APIs.
  • Experience independently creating test plans, test cases, regression suites, and managing defects throughout the testing lifecycle.
  • Professional English proficiency.
