Job Description

Role: Snowflake DBA

Location- Remote

Position – 2

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Snowflake Administrator
  • Ability to identify and drive continuous improvements
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Knowledge of Snowflake security features including access control, authentication, authorization, encryption, masking, secure view, etc.
  • Experience in scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python
  • Experience working in AWS cloud environments
  • Experience integrating Snowflake with an identity and access management program such as Forgerock is a plus
  • Experience working with Power BI and other BI, data visualization, and reporting tools
  • Experience with other relational database management systems, cloud data warehouses and big data platforms is a plus
  • Experience with data integration solutions and tools, data pipelines, and modern ways of automating data using cloud based and on-premise technologies

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for design, implementation, and administration of Snowflake based analytics and data warehouse environment in AWS Cloud
  • Handon experience setting up Snowflake environment, administration and connectors in AWS Cloud.
  • Develop, maintain, and oversee Snowflake deployment and usage best practices to ensure high performing solutions are both cost effective and secure
  • Own all aspects related to maintaining a high level of uptime for all production databases.
  • Develop and implement proactive monitoring
  • Responsible for maintaining environment diagrams, development standards, and team documents and checklists
  • Responsible for defining processes to support administering accounts
  • Assist operations and developers with troubleshooting as needed
  • Liaison with Security and IT Architecture Teams as required
  • Assist with risk and issue identification and resolution
  • Develop and maintain security, disaster recovery and business continuity documentation, playbook, and checklists
  • Implement security, roles, users and privileges using the best practices
  • Proactively identify, design, and implement improvements like automating manual processes
  • Keep up to date with latest features and best practices in Snowflake administration
