Job Description

As an engineer on Convertro’s DevOps team, you’ll be working in a small, strong team that is integrally part of the R&D group and works closely with developers. You’ll be responsible to deliver:

  • Keep a 24x7 production environment up-and-running using cloud-enabled automation and proactive monitoring, while allowing frequent incremental deployments.

  • Be part of designing a solid product, with emphasis on rapid development and scalability.

  • Be alert and proactively on analyze production incidents for root causes and solutions.

  • Keep our environment well documented in code, using CM tools and our own codebase.

  • Don’t stop exploring new technologies and idea and ever keep innovating.

  • Work in a lean, collaborative environment with minimum management overhead and maximum responsibilities.

  • Create the standards in the company for any infrastructure process and work with developers implement it .

Technologies you will be working in and around (for starters):

  • AWS Ecosystem

  • Configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet, etc)

  • Docker Ecosystem

  • Python, Java

  • Analytic Databases (Vertica)

  • CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins, Docker and more!)

  • Hadoop Ecosystem (Map/Reduce, Spark, HBase)

Qualifications

We’re looking for the following experience:

  • Extensive production operations background.

  • Configuration Management (Chef, Puppet, etc.).

  • Strong Linux system/network admin skills.

  • Experience with building CI/CD pipelines using open-source tools (i.e. Jenkins).

  • Fluent at coding in Python (or other programming languages).

  • Infrastructure automation in a scalable cloud environment (Preferably AWS).

  • Advantage - Extensive experience with AWS networking, load balancing, VPC creation.

  • Advantage - Experience with Docker and orchestration tools around the docker ecosystem (Swarm, ECS, Kubernetes).

Advantage - Database administration experience.
