This position will be responsible for supporting daily operations of the App Support Content Services team helping us resolve issues relating to the UL Video Streaming platform.

The candidate will perform basic systems troubleshooting and set-up of UL POC system, and documentation management pertaining to platform and system issues by updating team’s internal documentation depository aka Confluence. Daily activities will be based on our 80/20 program with the NOC and might involve work in the Terrace lab.

Candidate will be evaluated at end of 6 week period to determine if they are qualified, or show the aptitude, for a full-time position in the NOC upon graduation from college.


  • At least 1 year of theoretical experience with any major OS’s administration, configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, preventative maintenance, and security procedures.

  • At least 1 year of experience with either Linux/Unix and/or Apple OSX.

  • At least 1 year of hands on exposure to servers and workstations.

  • At least 1 year of exposure to some or most protocols such as HTML, TCP/IP, HTTP, XML, CSS, SSL, IIS , SMTP , FTP , SSH , RDP.

  • Any experience with any of the following: Bash/CSH, Windows PowerShell, MS DOS, Python, Perl, Javascript.

  • Good to have - some exposure to Streaming media protocols such as HTTP, RTSP, RTMP, Smooth Streaming, HLS, HDS

  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, social and communication skills.

  • Education - The ideal candidate will be pursuing Bachelor’s degree (4-year) in a technical major such as engineering or computer science.
